Track: Soft 6 Weather: Fine

Stacked field. Kimochi comes through the Manikato Stakes. will need luck from the barrier but flies on this track and will be flying to the line late. Veight can bounce back from a poor fresh run and J-Mac is a big booking. Ostraka is poorly drawn but is flying this prep and hard to knock in its current form. War Machine is dual nommed and racing very consistently while Skybird is in the same boat and warrants thought if racing here.

1. Veight (14)

Carved up fresh but is much better than that. Barrier 14 makes things tough but loaded with ability and is over the odds at time of typing. Keep very safe in this affair.

2. Bases Loaded (13)

Big run fresh and effort since was just fair. Proven in this grade and above. Very solid hope.

3. Xidaki (1)

Can’t have.

4. Ostraka (15)

Hard to knock in its current form. Both wins this prep have been excellent and Shinn steers from the very tricky draw. Warrants big respect in this field and should prove tough to beat.

5. Moravia (7)

Close up behind Ostraka last start and won easily the run prior. This race is well within reach and is over the odds.

6. Rhythm Of Love (5)

Can’t have.

7. Franz Josef (8)

Prefer others.

8. Port Lockroy (6)

Doesn’t win out of turn but finished on the heels of Ostraka last run, strips fitter and is a major contender from the good draw.

9. Flying Trapeze (4)

Can’t have.

10. War Machine (2)

Dual nommed. Superb record and maps well from the draw. Worth keeping safe and does know how to win.

11. Kimochi (10)

Class of the race that will be looking for a back to follow at the right time. Maps okay from barrier 10 and will be flying late. Big hope.

12. Stretan Angel (12)

Due for another win but form is good for this. Hard to beat and set to peak third up.

13. Skybird (3)

Dual nommed. Hard to beat from the kind draw and proven third up. Gets in well at the weights.

14. Konasana (11)

Can’t have.

15. Well Timed (9)

Fruitful prep so far. Maps a little sticky and rises sharply in grade but can’t be dismissed.
