Following the early scratching of Coeur Volante there is a full field of 17 runners plus 1 emergency for the 2024 Tattersall’s Tiara. There are three 3YOs, seven 4YOs, six 5YOs, and two 6YOs. Seven runners had their last start in the Group 1 Dane Ripper Stakes over 1300m at Eagle Farm on 15th June (won by C’est Magique), three in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 15th June (won by Stefi Magnetica) and two in the Group 2 Moreton Cup over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 8th June (won by Vilana), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are sired by Snitzel and two by More Than Ready. Chris Waller has 3 runners and Tony Gollan, Ciaron Maher and Kris Lees each have 2.

The early favourite is Bella Nipotina who ran 2nd in the Stradbroke and has drawn very wide again. Second favourite is C’est Magique who won the Dane Ripper Stakes. Third favourite is Roll On High who won the Group 3 Fred Best before finishing midfield in the Stradbroke after getting too far back. Opal Ridge was a good first-up winner on her home track of Scone then got too far back in the Moreton Cup but was making ground, while Semana placed twice at Group 1 level in Sydney in the Autumn before finishing in the back half of the field in the Stradbroke where she started from barrier 18. All other runners are currently over $16.

1. Bella Nipotina (17)

Talented mare who had a horror draw in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 15th June but still managed to run 2nd. Badly drawn again but is a major chance.

2. Semana (6)

Had Group 1 placings behind Zougotcha in the Coolmore Classic and Queen Of The Turf during the Autumn. Resumed for 10th in the Stradbroke where she got too far back but was making ground..

3. Roots (8)

Was runner-up in this race last year. Hasn’t raced for 9 weeks after finishing 14th in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville. Goes well fresh and he distance suits.

4. Opal Ridge (5)

Was a good first-up winner on her home track of Scone then got too far back in the Moreton Cup but was making ground.

5. Comrade Rosa (19)

Was doing her best work late finishing 2.7 lengths 7th in the Group 1 Dane Ripper Stakes over 1300m at Eagle Farm on 15th June. Better suited under these weight conditions but has drawn the outside barrier.

6. Bubble Rock (15)

Resumed from a 40 week spell to run 3rd in the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 1st June. Should be fitter now.

7. Vienna Princess (1)

Finished 8th in the Dane Ripper. Goes well at this distance.

8. C’est Magique (9)

Won the Dane Ripper Stakes and James McDonald sticks. One of the main chances.

9. Lekvarte (7)

Resumed in the Moreton Cup and ran last. Generally improves second-up.

10. Ausbred Flirt (12)

Finished 2nd in the Dane Ripper with the best final 400m. Got a chequered run after being slowly away and can be in the finish here.

11. More Secrets (11)

Hasn’t raced for 8 weeks. Prefer others.

12. Zoe’s Promise (13)

Will appreciate the drop back to 1400m after fading late over 1600m last start. Rough place chance.

13. Coco Jamboo (3)

Ran 2.2 lengths 5th in the Dane Ripper and meets the winner 1.5 kg better here.Not out of it.

Won the Group 3 Fred Best before finishing midfield in the Stradbroke after getting too far back.Chance.

16. Abounding (18)

Finished 3rd in the Dane Ripper. Drawn very wide here.

17. Miss Joelene (10)

Ran 3rd in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks over 2220m at Eagle Farm on 8th June. Big drop in distance will make it hard.

18. Banana Queen (2)

Will get a run following the early scratching of Coeur Volante. Disappointing 12th in the Dane Ripper but can improve second-up.

19. Willinga Beast (14)

Won the Listed Hinkler Stakes over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 15th June. This is much harder.
