Track: Heavy Weather: Overcast

A quality field engaged headed by Berkeley Square who just has to run out the 2040m to be hard to beat. Virtuous Circle should also relish the trip and is in the mix. Pericles brings in a different form line and creates interest for the in form Godolphin camp while Jenny Jerome can figure if it finds its best. A few going forward but the tempo should just be moderate over this staying trip.

1. Berkely Square (7)

Sees the track and trip for the first time but gets the in form Craig Williams to do the steering and certainly brings in a touch of class. Expect a bold performance and it is a deserving favourite as long as it can run the trip and handle the track.

2. Virtuous Circle (6)

Will do nothing but run well here with the nice draw and J-Mac in the saddle. Should be suited out in trip and drawn next to the favourite. Not expecting there to be much between them.

3. Pericles (9)

Creates interest bringing in different form to the race. Kah will need luck from the draw but the stable are on fire and the form around Opal Ridge reads well.

4. Foujita San (5)

Talented enough to win this but is nearing D-day. Showed plenty early doors but has been racing well enough to go close in this and does boast 2 placings on the track so it has that advantage over a few of its rivals. Definite hope.

5. Skyphios (3)

Can’t have.

6. Sir Bailey (4)

Unlucky last run and maps kindly from barrier 4. Query over the trip but comes from a stable that is outstanding with their stayers. Top 4 chance.

7. Dashing (10)

Racing well and the tight track should suit. The run in transit will be vital to its chances but it can take this out.

8. Berardino (8)

Suited by the rise in trip and brings in some nice form. Nash takes the ride and he just needs the gaps to open to be hitting the line hard. Top 4 chance.

9. Algendy (12)

Can’t have.

10. Gottabesavvy (1)

Prefer others.

11. Hereditary (2)

Can’t have.

12. Jenny Jerome (11)

Has form around the favourite in the past so certainly can take this out at good odds. Damian Lane takes the steer which is an ideal booking and it should run out the trip just fine. Massive chance with even luck from the wide draw.
