Inglis Sires 2022 Preview
Track: Heavy Weather: Showers.
Thirteen runners have accepted for the $1,000,000 Group 1 Inglis Sire and there have been no early scratchings. The Ciaron Maher/David Eustace stable is saddling up two runners in the event whilst the other stables only have one entry each.
Fireburn is the dominant favourite here on the back of her astonishing run in the Golden Slipper. She got knocked from pillar to post and picked herself up and finished the race off like a jet. The nicely bred Showcourt is next in the line of betting after a two-length defeat at the hands of Sejardan in the Todman Stakes.
Daumier rounds out the top three in betting after a solid four-length fourth in the Golden Slipper.
Inglis Sires Runner by Runner
1. Daumier (11)
Ran well enough in the Golden Slipper. Drawn a touch awkward and I have others in front of him.
2. Shalatin (1)
Missed the Golden Slipper and instead had a nice trial. Won’t mind the step up to the 1400m and went okay in the ground last start. Place chance.
3. Let’srollthedice (7)
The victorian visitor who won the Victorian version of the Sires Produce. Distance poses no issues and handles the going. Could run a big race.
4. Counttheheadlights (13)
Take on trust.
5. Millane (3)
A victorian visitor who has won his only start in Listed company. 1000m up to 1400m with no public trials.
6. Man In The Mirror (2)
Will need to improve.
7. Magic (8)
Couldn’t catch the leader in the Pago Pago Stakes but looks as though 1400m suits. Drawn okay and Randwick will suit.
8. Warby (10)
Unknown in wet and ran fairly in the Black Opal. Take on trust.
9. Wealthy Investor (9)
Will need to improve.
10. Showcourt (5)
Made nice ground in the Todman Stakes despite traveling keenly. 1400m suits and the ground doesn’t seem an issue. Can make a race of it.
11. Brosnan (4)
Two runs in haven’t been bad, coming from the rear of the field in both runs from bad draws. Gets a good draw this time, lugging bit and blinkers on the first time. Can win.
12. Fireburn (6)
Slipper winner coming off a massive run. 1400m shouldn’t be an issue and likewise with the ground. One to beat.
13. She’s Extreme (12)
Drawn poorly. Held up in the straight in the Slipper. Will be giving them a start but a good run wouldn’t shock.
