2024 Burgess Queen Stakes Runner by Runner
1. London’s Image (9)
Led all the way and won by 1.8 lengths at Bunbury last start to give her the 2nd career win. She looks good enough to get in the money here.
2. Earthstorm (14)
Still a maiden but she has placed in 5 of her 6 starts, including 2nd in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate. Has drawn the outside barrier but is still a strong place hope.
3. Divine Impact (7)
One of 2 runners for Neville Parnham (the other is Nickelplay) and both are sired by Playing God. Winner of both starts this preparation at Belmont then Ascot. At Ascot she led all the way at this distance. Strong chance.
4. Storyville (12)
She has 2 wins and a place from her 4 starts. Stepped up to 1400m for the first time last start and faded in the last 150m to finish 5th after leading most of the way. That was disappointing but William Pike is sticking with her.
5. Heavy Metal (8)
Still a maiden and has 3 places from 7 runs. Don’t think she has the quality of some of the other runners, and may need more time to show her best.
6. Flower Of Gold (5)
Has won her last 2 starts by good margins. She tend to settle back in her races but looks the top pick.
7. Ron’s Finalflutter (11)
She’s been in the trifecta at all 3 starts with a win and 2 places. Had the best closing splits when placed over 1200m at Ascot last outing so the 1400m should suit. Don’t dismiss.
8. Diamond Dancer (10)
Broke her maiden with a 2 length win over 1500m at Ascot on 16th October, at start number 5. Looks well-suited here and one of the key chances.
9. Nickelplay (2)
Comes off a 1.5 length win at Belmont where she had the best closing splits of the race. Nicely drawn and should go well.
10. Yuwill Be The One (6)
Still a maiden but chased hard to only just miss at Ascot last start. Not the worst.
11. Rosie Can Run (3)
Won over 1500m at Ascot last start in a tight finish. Rough place chance.
12. Just Gifted (1)
Last-start winner at Geraldton to break her maiden. Drawn ideally but this is much tougher.
13. Western Lady (13)
One start for one win over 1200m at Geraldton. This is a big step up, but don’t dismiss.
14. Classic Impact (4)
Placed at this track and distance last start. Still a maiden after 8 starts. Looks tested.
