A full field of 16 runners plus 5 emergencies have accepted for the 2024 Ladbrokes BRC Sprint with 19 geldings, one mare and a filly. There is one 3YO, four 4YOs, five 5YOS, six 6YOs, three 7YOs and two 8YOs. Four runners had their last start in the Listed ATC Trophy over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on 11th May (won by At Witz End), three in the $775,000 The Archer over 1300m at Rockhampton on 28th April (won by Namazu) and two in the Group 1 Doncaster over 1600m at Randwick on 6th April (won by Celestial Legend), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are trained by Kris Lees and two by Tony Gollan.

The betting is fairly open and the early favourite is Vilana who resumed for 2nd in the Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on 20th April. Second favourite is Freedom Rally who resumed for 3rd in the ATC Trophy. Third favourite is Yellow Brick who came a close 2nd in that race. Here to Shock comes off 2nd in a $150,000 BM 100 over 600m at Caulfield on 4th May (won by Dashing). Strait Acer ran 4th in The Archer at Rockhampton, while Estadio Mestalla came 4th in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes over 1200m at Newcastlw on 11th May. The other runners are currently $17 or longer.
