Track: Soft 6 Weather: Showers

The winner of this race last year was Al Aabir and the year prior was Irish Sequel. The current favourite Hopeful hit the line hard behind Eliyass last week. That looks good form for this. Sir Lucan can lead them up but didn’t show much last week and was beaten early. Looks set to bounce back. Bonny Ezra is hard to catch but capable at its best and Speycaster put two in a row prior to a poor run last start. Can bounce back.

1. Sir Lucan (8)

Beaten early last weekend but can bounce back in this and a lot to like about the run prior. Can lead them up and give a sight.

2. Hopeful (11)

Ran on well behind dominant import Eliyass and that form should hold up here. Barrier 11 is slightly tricky but brings in the strong ratings and looks the winner.

3. Mount Popa (5)

Can’t have.

4. Torrens (1)

Has 6 lengths to find on the favourite coming out of the same race. Yet to win here but does love this trip. Capable but needs to lift

5. Bonny Ezra (3)

Racing well and notched up a win two starts prior on a very heavy deck. Should be drier here but goes in the mix.

6. Youth Spirit (9)

Can’t have.

7. Point King (10)

Suited up in trips and strips fitter. Query of the form out of the race but has the right potential to take this out.

8. Speycaster (2)

Didn’t handle the drop back in trip last weekend. Will be suited over further but has to lift off that.

9. Gan Teorainn (6)

Can’t have.

10. Camaguey (4)

Prefer others.

11. Funambulist (7)

Bumped into one better last week in the mid weeks and that may be the right form for this. Maps okay from barrier 7 and comes out of a handy race where the winner, Naval Commision, is smart. Can win.
