Caulfield races are run at Caulfield Racecourse, which is one of three Melbourne Metropolitan racetracks. It is home to the Caulfield Cup the traditional leadup race to Australia’s most famous horse race, the Melbourne Cup. The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) has been running the Caulfield Cup since 1879. The MRC conducts 20 major race days at Caulfield Races with the other major meeting being the hosting the richest 2YO race in Victoria, the Blue Diamond Stakes.
Caulfield races are a good Melbourne Cup formguide to picking the Cup winner with eleven previous Caulfield Cup winners going on to win the Melbourne Cup. Many horses in Cups betting come through leadup races such as the Toorak Handicap. Underwood Handicap and of course the Caulfield Cup before heading to Flemington races on the first Tuesday in November in search of racing immortality.

Caulfield racecourse is an easy racetrack to get to with a tram ride from the city taking just 30 minutes to get you to the track. The train also drops you off just a few hundred metres from the track with trains leaving every 10 minutes from the Flinders Street Station
