Pitchfork (Randwick Race 3 No. 2)
This four-year-old All Too Hard gelding trained by John O’Shea has two wins and five place from nine starts. After resuming from a 15 week spell he led into the straight and was swamped in the final strides for 0.4 length 4th over 1400m at Kensington on 4 December, then started favourite but finished 2.5 lengths 2nd over 1400m on a soft track at Kensington on 17 December. He should be fitter for those two runs and looks a good chance here.

La Foret (Randwick Race 9 No. 16):
This Deep Field filly trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott has only had four starts but has ran 2nd twice and won twice. She raced twice as a two-year-old, then resumed after an 18 week spell for a 2.3 length win over 1100m at Canterbury on 27 November, then won by a length over 1100m at Canterbury on 11 December. She looks a very good each-way bet.

Spirit Ridge (Randwick Race 6 No. 9):
This six-year-old gelding is the early favourite in the Group 3 Summer Cup over 2000m. He resumed after 25 weeks for 0.94 length 2nd over 1600m at Newcastle on 14 November, then started favourite but finished 0.5 length 2nd over 1600m at Randwick on 12 December. There are several good chances in the race and he does not look like value.
