Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Champagne Aunty (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 8)
This five-year-old Trusting mare trained by Steve Tregea at Toowoomba has four wins and six places from 13 starts. When resuming after 19 weeks she fought hard to just miss when 0.1 length 2nd over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 17 July, then did best late for a 0.75 length win over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 31 July. The rise in trip will suit and she will be very hard to beat.

Each Way

Kudu (Eagle Farm Race 3 No. 3):
This four-year-old Spill the Beans gelding trained by Melissa Taylor has three wins and three places from 11 starts. He had a tough run where he over-raced, was tightened, bumped and lost a plate but still finished 0.75 length 2nd over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 21 July, then led nearly all the way for a 1.3 length win over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on 1 August. Has been going well and looks a good each-way proposition.

Best Lay

Royal Hale (Eagle Farm Race 8 No. 4):
This six-year-old Snitzel gelding trained by Tony Gollan is the early favourite in this BM 85 handicap over 1200m. At the end of last campaign he fought on for 4.2 lengths 3rd over 1350m at Doomben on 24 April. He resumed after 14 weeks for 2.7 lengths 4th over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 31 July. Has a 3kg claim here but doesn’t offer any value.

Key Comments The track is in the heavy range. Looking for runners that will handle the conditions. The best bet has the pole position and will take beating in what is a suitable race. The feature race is the Bathurst Cup (race 7). Best Bet Phobos (Bathurst Race 2 No. 1) Maps for a dream run from the pole position with J-Vo riding. Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 15th September 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
