Blue Ocean (Sandown Hillside Race 4 No. 3):
Blue Ocean has had two runs back from a spell – working to the line solidly first up at Pakenham and then improving off that run to finish third to Flandersrain here last start. He exploded third up last time in to win at Werribee and is well set up to do similar again. He should get a lovely run from barrier six and looks the one to beat in race four on the card.

Kermalaw (Sandown Hillside Race 1 No. 8):
Liked this geldings effort on debut at Moonee Valley back in October. He found himself a long way back and with plenty to do on the turn but closed strongly to be beaten less than two lengths – running the equal fastest last 200m of the race. All four horses that finished in front of him are subsequent winners. He resumes here having had three jump outs and gets blinkers for the first time, which indicates he is ready to go first up.

Alburq (Sandown Hillside Race 6 No. 4):
Michael Moroney’s gelding Alburq has come up as a clear favourite in race five. He is never far away although really struggles to get his nose down when it counts. He has started single figure odds at his last five outings despite having won just one race from his twenty starts. Happy to keep risking him at the short quote.

Going with those in form and despite the best and next best needing luck from their wide draws they both find very suitable races. Key Comments There are 8 races on the turf track where the track is rated soft and the rail is +4 metres from the 900m to the winning post and +2 metres for the remainder. Best Bet Rebel Shadow (Gold Coast Race 6 No. 3) Unlucky last start when he was held up until the 250m and then ran on strongly for 0.1 length 2nd. Drawn perfectly here and should be able to win. Best Bet Trafalgar Square (Newcastle Race 4 No. 6) Looks the absolute right race for Trafalgar Square.
