Astraeus (Caulfield Race 6 No. 4)
Astraeus is putting together a very solid preparation. He lead and controlled his race two starts ago when bolting in by 3.3 lengths at Moonee Valley. Last start at Pakenham he was afforded the same favours and was forced to sit outside the lead on a very strong pace. He fought on really well there to finish a narrow second and now has a good fitness base to attempt 2000m for the first time. He will roll forward and be in this for a long way.

Clap (Caulfield Race 1 No. 4):
We made Clap our best each way of the day at Sandown two weeks ago. He was left a sitting shot, riding a strong speed strong. on a day that was favourable to run on horses. Normally Caulfield is much more advantageous to on speed runners and if he can jump well again from barrier 9 and roll forward he can be in this for a long way.

Witchfulthinking (Caulfield Race 8 No. 2):
This Andrew Noblet trained mare is having her fourth start for the preparation. She won by 8 lengths two starts back at Terang and then went to Sandown on a track that was heavily favourable to leaders and managed to win again although was far less impressive in doing so. Happy to risk here as she steps up in grade and up in distance. She has more weight to carry too.
