The race has had various names through it’s history, including the Mercedes-Benz Stakes, Australia Post Stakes, and Breakfast Creek Hotel Stakes. Mostly it has been over a distance of 1400m but was held over 1350m in 2017 and 2018 when it was held at Doomben, and was run over 1830m in 2021.
